⚔️ Head to Head (H2H) – no more just collecting points Starting in Season 26/27, you can run your league in the new Head to Head Mode (H2H)! Instead of adding up the most points by the end of the season, you go head-to-head against a league rival every matchday – with clear winners and losers.
How it works:
Every matchday, you're automatically paired with an opponent
Whoever earns more Kickbase points wins the duel
Scoring: 🏆 Win → 3 points 🤝 Draw → 1 point ❌ Loss → 0 points
At the end of the season, whoever has collected the most H2H points wins
In case of a tie, cumulative Kickbase points decide
Good to know: ✅ Available for all Classic and Arena leagues ✅ Available in all competitions ⚠️ Only for leagues with a maximum of 18 managers 🔄 H2H can be selected when creating a league or during a league reset 🔁 Switching from H2H back to normal league points mode is possible once – switching the other way (from normal league points mode to H2H) is only possible via a hard reset or when creating a new league ⚠️ Existing leagues cannot be switched to H2H afterward – only via a hard reset or when creating a new league
Important – interaction with sanctions & bonuses:
Point penalties or bonuses only affect the total points, never the matchday points. Since H2H duels are decided by matchday points, sanctions/bonuses have no effect on the outcome of an individual H2H duel – they only change the total point count in the background.
Frequently asked questions from the community:
What happens if someone joins or leaves the league?
The bot is adjusted dynamically and future matchups are recalculated.
How are matchups handled with fewer than 18 managers?
Everyone plays everyone else as often as possible. Some pairings may occur more often than others – that's decided randomly.
What happens with an odd number of managers?
If there's an odd number of managers, a Kickbase Bot is automatically added to the league – and removed again once the number is even. You'll see the bot listed as Kickbase CPU. The bot adjusts dynamically whenever someone joins or leaves the league. In Arena mode, the bot sets its own lineup. In Classic mode, the bot automatically gets a team for each matchday.
If the number of managers becomes odd, the KB Bot is added immediately
If the number becomes even again, the bot leaves the league immediately
⚠️ While a matchday is live, the bot can neither join nor leave the league. Changes only take effect for upcoming matchdays – matchups for the current matchday remain unchanged
Kickbase Bot in Classic leagues:
The squad is generated automatically as soon as the bot joins the league
The team consists of 11 players in one of the allowed formations
The bot's budget is calculated from the average team value plus the average available budget of all managers in the league
Only players who don't belong to any manager and aren't listed on the transfer market are eligible
If the bot leaves the league, its players are released and become available to all managers like other free players. A newly joined manager takes over the bot's spot in the matchups – all other matchups remain unchanged
The bot's squad is regenerated between matchdays: after the final calculation of a matchday, all players are released, and at midnight on the day of the next matchday the bot puts together a new team following the same rules
💡 Players the bot used keep their position in the transfer market queue – their time on the market is not reset
Kickbase Bot in Arena leagues:
In Arena mode, the bot sets its own lineup
Can I still see the normal ranking in H2H mode?
Yes! The table is sorted by H2H points, but all managers' matchday points remain visible on the new matchups screen.
When will I see who I'm playing against?
The full schedule is fixed at the start of the season and can be viewed on the matchups screen. It's only updated if a manager joins or leaves the league.
Can I switch my existing league to H2H afterward?
No, unfortunately that's not possible. H2H can only be selected when creating a new league or during a league reset.
